About

Peter Harrison Fine Art (PHFA) was established in 2020 with the ethos to present traditional old master paintings in a new and exciting manner.

PHFA strongly focuses on rediscovering paintings commonly known as ‘sleepers’, works of art that over time have lost their attribution or historical provenance, and through diligent and thorough research reunites an artist to a painting. As a result we have recently discovered several ‘lost’ paintings including works by George Romney, Sir Peter Lely, Mary Beale and Sir Godfrey Kneller.

We believe that old master paintings can be placed within any type of collection, be that a traditional old master collection or hung alongside modern and contemporary works of art. We often look to collaborate with other dealers, collectors and institutions to display our works in new and innovative ways, allowing old master paintings to be appreciated in untraditional spaces.

We pride ourselves by the works we own. As a result each painting is meticulously restored to as close to its original form as possible. We offer professional condition reports with each work and are more than happy to show a work in person before finalising. If you would like to find out more information in regards to a specific work please do not hesitate to contact us.

The Team

Peter Harrison - Director
Peter graduated from Christie’s Education and the University of Glasgow in 2018 with a Master’s degree in History of Art and Art World Practice. After briefly interning with the art dealers, Philip Mould and Simon Dickinson, Peter quickly gained a fascination for the world of old master paintings. In his first year working as a dealer, Peter discovered previously unknown works by George Romney, Sir Peter Lely and Bernardo Strozzi. Peter is now focused on bringing a variety of newly discovered European old master works to market including three newly discovered works by the English Court artists Sir Peter Lely, Sir Godfrey Kneller and Michael Dahl.
